Hello

Im Andrew, 27yo from Hobart Tas!
Really enjoying looking through the wealth of knowledge here and excited at the possibilities having a community such as this to draw from when problems arise! You will all have to wait a fair while before I get any project pics uploaded because at the moment I dont even have a workshop, not even a shed , all my tools are in storage:(! However we (my partner and 3 young girls) are moving soon and a workshop is on the menu!! Im really eager to get set up as im not getting much satisfaction out of my job (digging holes) and need to be building something to fix that craving!! Anyway, when I do get set up I want to make jewelry boxes and maybe in a few years get good enough to sell them, ok maybe quite a few years to reach that kind of quality!

Cheers
Andy

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Andy.
There are quite a few members in Tassie as well as across the whole country & the world.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [work in progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork & setting up the new shed.
Cheers, crowie

Im in the process of sourcing a few new tools for dovetail work. I need a good quality cutting gauge, any suggestions would be welcome. Also has anyone invested in david barrons dovetail guide? handmade modern contemporary wood furniture (http://www.davidbarronfurniture.co.uk/david_barron_tools.asp?pg=1&id=5)
would like a review before sending off for it, i am waiting on a quote from him for postage for the 1:6 guide and a few other things.

G'day Andy, You really need to put this sort of question in the relevant subsection of the forum to ensure a wider audience of helpers with advice.. Sorry I'm no assistance on this one. Cheers, crowie

A very warm welcome to you Andy and trust
you will get all the assistance you require on this forum.

Interested to see that your job is "digging holes". It is
the only job I know of where you start at the top and
work your way to the bottom.
