Spent a fortnight based in Ypres and paid our respects at many of the Somme locations. Very sobering experience. We were going to attend the nightly ANZAC /Allied ceremony once at the Menin Gate and ended up attending every night we were there.

Our hotel was just a short walk from the Menon Gate so went to the ceremony on both nights we were there. Would highly recommend it to anyone who visits Ypres.
