Well I am back. I have survived the big cut but under doctors orders no shed time for about six to eight weeks.

When I came out of the anesthetic the doctor asked how I felt and I said I felt like I was run over by a Mack Truck and he said dont worry we got the number.

Welcome back Bazz!

Just when I was starting to worry too!

You faded a bit in surgery... maybe you could do with some UBeaut Water Based Dye (http://www.ubeaut.com.au/dye.html) , they do a lovely black one...you'll look like your old self in no time!

cheers,

P :D :D

Good to see you back Barry. Since you're not allowed to do any woodwork for 8 weeks, you could spend the time profitably rearranging your workshop. You know, move the tablesaw here, put the jointer there....

On second thoughts, take it easy.

Hey Baz, if that's the quality of the surgeon's knitting I hope you didn't commission a jumper from him :D

Welcome back mate. Lots of controversy at the moment - feel free to dive in and wallow - we all are :D :D

Been there - done that 7 years ago.
If you have the opportunity do a cardiac rehab course - well worth while
Keep well

Barry, Nice to see you are on deckagain, take it easy, rest as directed, I guess you will be doing some walking around Kentucky. No sawdust manufacturing so take note, two months of planning are in order.

Regards from Glen Innes where its cold and miserable and looks like snowing

Mike.

Don't you just love Doctors with a sense of humour :D
If he's not worried things are looking good, take it easy and don't stress.

well done for making it through the ordeal, and speedy recovery!

PS If you're really itching for something to do for the next few weeks you could browse through the Lee Valley website for some inspiration .... and a course of retail therapy, its all part of a balanced cardiac rehabilitation program :D

Dont leave it too late, get in early while there is still some sympathy from SWMBO! ;)

Welcome back, Barry. I hate to think what your chest must feel like after that Mack truck hit you. But at least you can now look forward to quite a few more years of woodwork, once you have healed up.

Looking good Barry, wondered where you'd got to, and it turns out you where just gettin a good tune up and some reconditioning done, the 100,000 mile service is always a worth while, especially if you got a good technician :D

Sorry Barry, more laughs coming, I'm sure :D

Glad to see you don't actually need any water dyes IMHHO, I think your colour scheme looks nice and healthy!

We can always send in some shavings and timber scraps if you need to have some wood in your hands - [no puns intended!!!!! so behave, we don't want Barry laughing too hard remember :o ]

cheers

My best wishes Barry for a great recovery. As you can't do any work spend the time on searching the net for ideas on shop improvements and what to make next.

To Barry,

Make a speedy recovery.

As regards operation scars I seem to have been more fortunate, I had visits from at least 10 pretty nurses wishing to inspect catherter insertion areas (both sides of groin) I think my prowess had spread to all wards of the hospital.

Or it might have had something to do with the harse attack that ozwinner mentioned

Welcome back!! :D
Being on the green side of the grass is always a good thing!!
Avoid sneezing at all costs.
If you only have to idle 6 to 8 weeks, you don't even have enough time to learn Chinese Mandarin or get hooked on a soap opera.
You'll be back in the shed before you know it.
Hang in
