Tarp thickness/weight recommendation

I need to put a tarp over the back of the house for a couple of weeks while I re-roof it, I was thinking of using a poly tarp either 240 or 300gsm. Would this be sufficient for a couple of weeks or would I need to go thicker.

Would appreciate any advice.
