Hi all,
We are currently owner-building, and will be doing timber flooring for lofts and mezzanine area, soon. The building is log-framed, and the joists are 6 x 3 marri. We are laying 12mm pine T&G on that, to give a light coloured ceiling in the downstairs rooms, and on top of that, jarrah T&G to form the upstairs floor. We were wondering about putting some sort of non-toxic lining material between the pine and the joists to prevent some of the creaking that happens when timber floors are walked on. Has anyone tried anything like this?
Thanks,
Jill
