Good Morning
I am having troubles viewing new posting with out opening main headers. If I click on a new posting IE 11.0.2 tells me unable to connect. If I go into the main header then click on new posts it works fine. I am using Win 7. This action was working fine yesterday.(30 Jan 14) Can you tell me if it is me having a computer tough day or is it the Forum?

It's the forums, not just you Nobby. I'm having similar trouble, especially when clicking on email notification links to view subscribed threads.

its a two letter one...

IE

get a proper browser and you'll never look back...
I have Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on all my devices, and somehow Chrome gets the guernsey every time...I guess its that I can Google straight from the address bar...
Have not ever opened IE on my laptop, but I understand it's needed for some part of the Win7 operations...

The current issue for me is not browser related as far as I can see. From the Activity Stream I can't view any post with any browser. It just returns a blank page with no errors.

Hi,
I was getting the blank page when clicking on a post, then I discovered it was only happening if I clicked on the button to view first unread. but if I clicked on the post I got it but if I clicked "go to first unread" on the tool bar I got the blank page again. I can scroll through the page and go from page to page. When I get the blank page refreshing does not help. I am using the latest FF.
Now lets see if I can submit

XP, IE 8 or Latest version of FF.

IE (normally used and slow but reliable), if I select a Forum then a Thread from the listing, it works as expected. If I select a thread direct from the last thread column, I get a No connection error and it locks IE, so I cant use back buttons etc.

FF (not normally used for WWF so no cookies set etc) Looks good pre login, login, it downloads front page in multicolumn mode, go to change to single column mode, locks up when it tries to download woodworkforums.com/style 43 or whatever changes style. Also tried in multicolumn mode, and it locks when I select thread from the lastpost column.

Doubt it is browser/machine related if it does similar things in different browsers on the same machine within a minute.

I still can't get pictures to upload. The uploader goes through the motions and the spinner icon turns but it stops and the picture is not present on the palette for pasting. Is it something I am doing?

All is mostly running fine for the moment.

We may have a problem or two over the next couple of days also. We are installing a language translator program that's having a problem with another part of the latest vBulletin program or more to the point a couple of installed plugins which we have had to uninstall/decommission to begin again with the language translator.

Hopefully all will be up and running glitchless by the end of Tuesday. Translator will initially only be available to non registered members as read only, via the main Forums and the Forum Archives. Once we're satisfied it's a goer it will become available to all members.

My apologies for any problems or inconvenience that may occur during this process.

I still can't get pictures to upload. The uploader goes through the motions and the spinner icon turns but it stops and the picture is not present on the palette for pasting. Is it something I am doing?

In the most simple terms:
METHOD 1

Scroll down to "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" > "ADD FILE" > "BROWSE" > select the picture > "OPEN" > "UPLOAD" > "INSERT INLINE" or "DONE"

Insert in line will put the pic in at the bottom of the post. Done will enable you to place the pic in the post where you want it via the paper-clip on the top line of the "TEXT BOX"

METHOD 2

If uploading via the "Insert Image" icon on the top line of the text box do the following:

Click on the "Insert Image" icon

[*=1]if from computer click on "Basic Uploader" > "Browse" > select the picture > "OPEN" > "Upload File"
[*=1]if from URL insert the url then make sure the Retrieve remote file and reference locally check box is □ unchecked then click on OK

Hope this is if some help.

Still seems to be a slight problem. It doesn't remember me - have to log in with password every time. Then I get a message
Invalid Redirect URL (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/index.php)
Works OK when I click on any forum.
Using Safari, but I don't think it's a browser problem.

Edit: Just tried clicking on the 'invalid' link in this post and it worked!?

Invalid Redirect URL (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/index.php)
Where on earth did you come up with that login. It hasn't been in use for many years.

The correct url for Woodwork Forums is:

http://www.woodworkforums.com

We're catching these requests and redirecting them to the correct url. Basically some third party software we've decommissioned used to do this, your old bookmarks should be working again. For example;

This:
http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=181179

Will redirect to this:

Hi Steve

Found this morning that some not all of my emailed subscribed posts went to the main directory of the thread not the thread or post itself.

Have noticed that "Like" for posts has gone.

For some time now when in the "market section" there is no "Quick Links" "Forum Actions" options as well as others across the top.

Its great to see the Translation feature been added at the bottom of the screen.

Hi there

The links from alert emails sent prior to 5am today were fixed around 7:30ish.

The like button was part of the software we needed to remove, I have a replacement I can set up in a few days.

I'm glad I read this thread before starting a new one.

Steven - you might need an official notice on decommissioning/replacing the like feature. Many of us now use it and will be wondering....

When posting I cannot see any of my new posts. They are in the forum and activity stream but not in the 'new posts'.
Could it be something I'm doing wrong?

LoydNo. They don't show up in new posts because the board knows you have read them.

Hi there

Yep until they've read them that is, then they disappear off their new posts list. To pull up posts regardless of their read status, you could use the todays posts link http://www.woodworkforums.com/search.php?do=getdaily&tabid=11&contenttype=vBForum_Post It's located under quick links in the sub menu.
