Just a quick review on the Harvey HW110HB-30 Tablesaw I purchased back in October 2013 from Ryan at Major Woodworking Equipment (http://www.majorwoodworking.com.au/).

Here is a link to the page with the saw I purchased Harvey HW110HB-30 Tablesaw - Major Woodworking Equipment (http://www.majorwoodworking.com.au/woodworking/saw-cutting-machines/tablesaws/harvey-hw110hb-30-tablesaw/)

I can only praise Ryan for his sales and service on the table saw and can only highly recommend him and Major Woodworking Equipment.

The saw arrived in two boxes and was easy to assembly (I did most of it after work on the day it arrived) I would recommend you get a friend to help with the some of the setup (not impossible to assembly by yourself but would make the job considerably faster and easier)

The blade was smack on alignment and so was the fence. The fence locks in solid and I can not fault it. The 90 mark was also perfect and the 45 was off by a little but was very quick and easy to fix.

I chose this model due to renting and only having 10amp power. Would love to have bought the bigger brother just for a bigger motor but so far everything I have chucked at it, it has handled great.

It comes with a dado and normal throat plate and handles the dado set I bought great. It also includes 2 rising knives both are quick and easy to remove and replace and rise and fall with the blade. One has a plastic cover that acts as dust extraction (I have not used this one yet)

There is also a mitre gauge slide that I find comes in handy as I also have an Incra 1000SE with the Incra express slide. I use the Incra for most of my cuts but when I use my dado I am unable to use the slide as the dado would cut slide from a zero clearance cut to a dado size cut.

I have made a few projects with it and use my Incra I-Box jig on it every time I make finger joints (which is always now as the I-Box is so damn easy to use) and have found it to be a pleasure to use.

I have since made a home made router extension for it and inserted a Kreg router plate into it with my Triton router mounted underneath it.

I am yet to take some photos of my setup but will put some on soon.

Overall I can not fault the machine or the service I received with buying it. Anyone thinking of buying one will not be disappointed.

Just a quick update. This machine is still going strong. I have just moved and am getting a 6m x 10.5m shed built to house all my tools so at the moment they are all in storage. Once this is done I will get the pictures up.

Thanks for the review. Could you tell me what it's like as far as changing over to the dado set is like? i.e. is it quick and simple? awkward? difficult?

I note that your blade sat nice and square straight out of the box, but how difficult do you it would it be to adjust if needed?

Blade changes are very quick and easy. There is a pin lock on the arber that stops the arber spinning so you only need 1 spanner (supplied) to undo the locking nut. Push and hold the pin lock in and undo the nut, remove blade and reverse the process. It even comes with a dado insert.

Unsure how hard it would be the adjust the blade but I remember reading that there are some nuts or bolts that you adjust underneath to make the change.

Haha, it's OK, no hurry really... but I'm keen to see some pics when you are ready.

Were you able to get a good deal or are the website prices firm? I am seriously considering the HW110LGE-50 in the next few weeks.

I don't recall if I got a deal but I do recall paying a bit more than the current price as it appears the price may have dropped since I bought mine. Give Ryan a call and see what he can do, I found him to be very easy to deal with.

Still waiting for some pictures Grantoboy! :U

Sorry for the delay. Shed is on the back burner with wife getting pregnant and all :U so I decided to move into the garage that is attached to the house.

Here are some photos of the machine. I have also started building a bench (roubo style) I will create a post in the bench thread about it. I have also started building cabinets that will line the the wall in the garage that I can store my stuff in to free up some space as space is a premium. Just need to get a sparky in to wire up a sub board in the garage as it is a bit of a strain with the old bandsaw I have as it trips the circuit breaker by its self. Just installed a window air conditioner that I acquired for the right price.

Thanks Grantoboy and congratulations on starting the biggest project of all, baby making :U
Nothing like a baby-on-the-way to change the shed building plans...

Your saw looks very nice and well made. Love the big polished handles. I like your router wing too - I actually just purchased that kreg insert for my triton and might do something similar. More importantly, I just (last week) ordered a Harvey for myself - the HW110LGE-30. Very excited. Should arrive at the supplier (Get Woodworking) in a week or so. Then on to making a bench for myself too...

You won't be disappointed. I wish I bought the bigger model you are getting but could only get a10amp machine at the time of my purchase. I can't fault the machine and it handles everything I have chucked at it.

Baby number 3 for me so I should be fine

Oh number 3, you must be expert by now :)
Can't wait for the Harvey, I'll post my thoughts in the existing HW110LGE-30 review thread when it arrives.

I just got the Harvey smaller model and in the process of assembling it. The cast iron extension wings look fine but the LHS wind has a bit of a high spot in the center so I wonder what the surface flatness of these is supposed to be? Any ideas?

i like your router table idea. I bought the phenolic extension wing which doesn't come with the smaller Harvey as standard ( it does with the bigger model) but it looks like you made a wooden wing?

I dont know much about routing but did you use those Harvey rails to avoid buying/making a router table or was it to use that very nice Harvey fence?

Can you tell me the width including the fence guide rails as if I get one it will be stored against a wall in the garage and brought out as required.

1525mm x 800mm to the outer of the rails.

Yeah it's made from wood.

Did this for both reasons you said above. To save having a dedicated router table and to use the fence

Quick update as I saw this is almost 7 years on.

Saw still going strong and still happy with it.
