Hi, I wonder if anybody can help?
We have recently bought a house on a sloping block. Shortly after moving in we found the lower ground floor flooded, approx 1cm deep water, penetrating around the edge of the slab. On this occasion a burst water main appeared to be the cause. Having had this fixed, the water went away only to reappear following heavy rains.
I figured that this may be due to drainage of the site. I have dug a trench exposing the outer leaf of the brick cavity wall and applied a con cretinous waterproof membrane (Vandex) to the wall, bandaging the slab wall junction and extending the membrane about 100 mm down the footings. I plan to put in an agg drain along the base of the wall and back fill with bluemetal. However, I am concerned that in doing so I will damage the membrane.
Is anyone aware of a product that I can use? I have seen a number of products, but they all appear to be on sale in bulk only - I don't need enough to cover a 100m run, only about 5m. Does anyone have any ideas? I am located on the central coast of NSW.
