After some lurking I've joined the Forums. A recent job loss has seen me with enough time to start on some of the projects I've been wanting to do, unfortunately without the the funds to buy some of the tools I'll need so like a lot of new starters I'll have to make do with what I have and the odd careful purchase.

It's been a while since I did any real wood work so I'm getting back into it with basic but useful stuff like custom book/cd/dvd cases and a workbench, built out of basic pine while I re-learn some of the basic skills (measure twice cut once anyone??) before moving onto more complicated projects and expensive woods.

You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.

Friendly bunch in here so enjoy. Sounds like you have a few projects to keep you going shame about the funds. Some of the best stuff can be made on limited funds though if you take the time and shop around :2tsup:
