Hi, I'm Mike and work as an electronics technician and long time lurker on the forum, then joined but never posted. I've made several pieces of furniture over the years and attempted wood turning with bad results but lots of fun. In 2008 I started doing guitar repairs for my son and a few of his friends. I made a guitar from scratch, copying a picture as a plan, and some wood which was completed in 2012. Then I made another completed in 2013, now I am building a few more.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Mike".
There are a heap of members in Brisbane and across S.E. Queensland.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork...
Cheers crowie

PS - Albany Creek isn't north of Brisbane it's a suburb.....
I grew up at Northgate, Boondall & Bracken Ridge, my mum's still at Chermside & brother at Clear Mountain....

G'Day Mike,

I too am from Brisbane however I am on the southside. There are many others on the forums from in and around Brisbane and from varied areas of our great wood working / turning sections here on the forums.
As Crowie said heaps of knowledge here on the forums and always good to share the knowledge to others too so yeh photos are a great way to share what you and others are doing.

Once again welcome and enjoy the experience :2tsup:

Cheers
Tony.
