We have installed a video suvaillance system at the shop.
Sad I think, that we had to spend $3000 to stop ppl from stealing $2 items.
But thats the way of the world I guess??
Last week my missus was looking at the monitor and said " look, theres a bloke taking a leak behind the rubbish skip"
It was at 2.20 in the arvo.
I ran out and challenged him, it was all my fault of course. :(
Info was passed onto the police who paid him a visit, no charges are going to be laid, but he got the fright of his sad little life. ( thank you police ppl. )
Here is the sign I going to have made for the shop.
BTW, my wife has caught others doing it too, scarey when you think shes there by here self most days, some days there is an angry bricklayer there too, you pick the day. :D
Sad isnt it?? :(

Isn't it a shame you can't download the footagd to your pc take a still and do a local letter drop in his area asking if you think this is ok
Dealing with the public on a daily basis you have my sympathy
( but I was in A bad way sorry)

Man that sound's strange! Oz, what do you think it is about the area behind your shop that compel's people to 'say hello to the one-eyed monster'? Is there a pub nearby? Territory marking?.....meowhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gif

Al, why don't you send the video clip to channel 9 for their funniest home video show? Then they may see themselves on tv. :D

Al,
I would hook up a mild current to the skip with a switch near the monitor. That way when the missus sees it happening she just gives them a little surprise.
Who is going to complain. They will go to the cops and say "there I was urinating on a skip out the back of a shop......oh, never mind."

I wouldn't make it so mild. Mind you - please turn it off after dark coz I've had to take relief on the way home myself
To that end I think we've probably all had to at some stage - some of us are just a little more discrete than others :o

Problem is, is that the skip is at the side of the shop facing Plenty Rd, whichs is really busy.

I've got a spare one here that lightening gave a tickle up. It only puts out 240V to the fence. It's the mongrel that got me. It took 15 months to get the full use of my arm back.
Just had a funny vision of someone lining that unit up. I reckon the gonards would bang together that hard & fast it would sound like an old outside phone bell. You couldn't be called a perv that way Al; you would be able to hear the action.:D:D
