Hi everyone,
First post on the Renovate forums, so go easy :)

I recently purchased a 1950's build brick veneer home that has a sub floor on concrete stumps. The house has sub-floor ventilation ducts all around the exterior of the house. However in the mid 70's the owner put an extension onto the back of the house - a large 6 x 6m approx rumpus room on a concrete slab. There is a step down from where the house previously ended into this 'new' room.

see as per the pic:

Issue 1 is the extremely dodgy powerpoint they've threaded through there which i'll remove.

Issue 2, and the crux of my query is - can I cover over that grate/vent. I'm finding it's causing draughts, dust is blowing in through there and it looks ugly.
My thinking is that considering the vent is now covered by the room anyway, that it's probably more or less defunct, but am keen to know others opinions about what they would do.

Cheers

Seb :)
