Anyone ever had this?
Wednesay night my phone rings about 3am, the screen says unknown caller so I ignore it, but when I looked at the call register Thursday there is nothing showing.
Same thing last night, about 2am, I answer it this time but the phone is inactive (as in no open call) and when I checked later there's nothing showing in the call register - missed or received calls.

I'm with Telstra, the phone is the basic Samsung flip phone and only about a week old.
Cheers
Paul

Sounds like the start of a SF plot with the calls being from another dimension or galaxy :oo:

Nothing so exciting, it's probably just the NSA checking in :)

Registar your mobile and all phones with "Do Not call" lasts abut 6 months and ten you have to do it again. These are often automated calls to see when your about so then the call centre people can ring and annoy you more.

What Wheelin said. Basically its an automated call computer and the caller data has been dodgied up so you can't trace it back - if you answer and there is no free operator at their end you just get an open line. I suspect that they have fudged things so that they are not paying for all the auto answered calls that won't let them speak to a live person.

Mine was on my landline.
Woke me up from my nap. I raced (read shuffled) to the phone and just as I got there it stopped ringing.
Did a call back, an elderly gentleman answered and told me I must have dialled the wrong number.
Profuse apologies accepted.
Did another callback, same person answered, no he didn't call me, doublechecked the number, yes, that's my number but I didn't all you.
Profuse apologies accepted.
Who the heck was it?
I live in 07 area and this was an 08 number.

I've had one or two landline calls per week for some months. When I pick up there's silence or the caller hangs up straight away. If I don't pick up, there's no message left in response to my recorded message.

I turned off the outgoing message and let the next call ring out. Then used the caller ID function and it was blocked. No more mysterious calls happened after that.
