Hi guys.
Wondering if you can help me out.
I'm wanting to help my mate set up a rail to hang doors from.
She wants to use an LVL, which will remain exposed (her taste, she likes the look of them), screwed to the lintel (hardwood) above the doorway and hang the rail underneath the LVL with brackets (see pics) every 600mm.
The 2 doors are 50kg each (so not that heavy). The rail is rated for way more than that.
First question is regarding the fixing of brackets to the LVL (see pics) and the suitability of an M12 coach screw perhaps. Something else?
Secondly attaching the LVL through the plasterboard and into the hardwood lintel. Would the same arrangement be ok?
Cheers, Su.
