G'day all,

As per most in this section i've been doing a lot of reading and no posting so far. I live in Gerringong NSW and love building things! My favourite class at high school all those years ago was 'technology' in which i built an electric guitar in yr 12. More recently I've been building little things around the house, the biggest project of which being a desk for SWMBO out of internal doors and maple trimmings (fairly simple and plain but effective, solid and neat none the less).

I've recently also bought my first table saw - a second hand Hafco SP12 which is providing countless hours of vacuuming and blowing sawdust out of my nose... not to mention a few slightly smaller pieces of wood. It's great fun anyway and I'm looking forward to discovering all the things I can do with it (including set it up correctly... :oo:)

Anyway, G'Day and cheers for all the info!

Mark

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Mark".
There are quite a few members in & around the Nowra & the Southern Highlands but then you aren't too far from Sydney..
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers crowie

PS - Take care with all that sawdust in the shed as most of its not too good for you.....

Welcome to the forum.

There are several things to consider for dust extraction and the sub-forum at this link can give you quite a bit of reading. DUST EXTRACTION (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f200/)

The saw that I have does not allow dust extraction and so I use a dustbeegone mask.
