Chain Letter

I have just opened the mail and there is a chain letter from a David Rhodes in Perth.
As usual it suggests posting off $10-00 and forwarding letter off to others.
Of course I have consigned it to WPB.

But doesn't that now entitle you to have your armpits infested by the fleas of 1000 camels etc etc for non compliance, like the crap I have had via email?
I like to read them to see what ingenuity some clown has come up with now, and realise that some will send money.

Send it on to the consumer affairs department, or in WA
Ring the Consumer Protection Call Centre for advice on 1300 30 40 54, anonymously if you prefer.

It's the grubs that forwarded it to you who will be pursued and eventually they'll get the message and stop inflicting their own brand of misery!

The David Rhodes letter is almost as well known as the Nigerian chappies.

I got the same letter. I filed it appropriately too.

How can people fall for this kind of stuff?

If it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is.

Didn't they catch them, only the name and rank changed, I seem to recall it came from somewhere in Holland :confused:

"Them" changes, on the letter I received it was five "innocent" people, guilty of sending the letter on, but all will by now have a nice letter from the consumer affairs people, who view chain letters very dimly indeed.

It really is worth the time to send it on to them.

I haven't had one for a couple of months thank god, but there was a time when I was getting 3 or 4 a week :eek: :mad:

It got to the stage where I could predict that I'd received one before I opened it.

I figured it was beacuse of my surname starting with B and that the tossers who were sending them to me were to stupid to open the phone book at any other page.

Anyway Midge I'm afraid I'm guilty of binning them too.

I got one with 5 cents attached a few weeks ago, the sender wanted me to send out 200 letters with 5 cents attached. Thats as far as I read, the letter went into the round file.

I will send it on to Consumer Affairs in Perth.
However I do not hold out much hope as they were powerless to force T........ to refund my money after having received a faulty machine.
Had the letter offered me a cube of Jarrah for my $10-00 I might have been tempted otherwise I will take my chances about being infested with fleas or whatever fate awaits me

I did not keep the 5 cents. It went into the bin with the letter. I put enough effort into reading the letter. I was not going to waste anymore time removing the 5 cents.

What do you mean SCAM i'm with gumby post them to me as well with the $10

and if you do I will give all proceeds to a worthwile tool collecter who will remember you all ( those that post cash not cheques that is ) to the great tool shop in the sky. Trust Me .
