Putting up a bell on a rendered red brick wall

I have a hand bell that I want to put up onto my rendered red brick wall next to the front door.


What do I need to do to prepare the wall?
What kind of bolt/screw should I use to hold up the bell?
Do I need to insert anything in the hole to prevent the wall from crumbling over time?
