Hi all. I'm not a woodworker but a metalworker. I hope that does not matter. I used to work on the machines a bit, but am now into industrial automation. I finally got myself a metal lathe, the AL960B from Hare & Forbes. I've already done a search on this forum and have found some good advice. So even though I'm not a woodworker, I hope I can still frequent this forum. All though I am building a chook house and run at the moment, from wood :U

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "jvb".
There are a heap members from the Melbourne area.
I did my engineering trade in the RAN but find working with timber very rewarding & relaxing.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your metalwork/woodwork.
Cheers crowie

Of course it does not matter. Just as long as you enjoy making something, even if it's just a mess.

Come on dad, a good tradesmen learns first the broom then to look after the tools as they are expensive.....
But then good tools don't cost a good tradie they earn....
Good luck getting him trained to do the clean up and put away....
Cheers, crowie
