Yes, you are.
The New Post forum displays any post you haven't read yet, as you posted the thread it is marked as you having read it!
If you click on Activity Stream you will see your new thread however.

Hi,
If you click on 'quick links' then 'today's posts' you get all today's posts including the ones you have read or written.
