Hi All,
My name is Michael Mueller I live in Vincentia on the shores of Jervis Bay NSW. I grew up on a dairy farm in Victoria and while I always enjoyed making things it has always been very practical in nature and some what rural :-). I have made a few little bits of furniture and things but nothing really what you would call fine wood working. Lately I have got really interested in wood working after watching this video series on you tube Building a Handtool Cabinet - Part 1 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6--JcP6cVWw). The way he marks stuff out and the care he takes I found really inspiring.
Inspired I started out looking at power tools realised I needed a bench saw, then a router then a router table then a jointer then a thinknesser. Then I started reading about dust issues and dust extraction systems minimum 2 hp etc oh hmm seems a bit full on!
More reading and watching stuff on you tube and I came across this guy. Alex Mosher - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/feed/UCZkMvsScBmumFS-XNu3gLkg). The stuff he was teaching (he talk's like he is speaking to a kid but it is still good info imho). I had a realisation, why don't I just do it all with hand tools! I'm in no rush, I want to be able to work at night after work in my garage attached to the house. So that is what I have decided to do and I have built a few small things it is a great break from programming computers which I do during the day.
That's Me.
regards
Mike.
