Greetings all! :)

I was directed to this site by a fine lad from Sydney. My hobby interests are in wood and I am just finishing a riverboat, posting the log on ModelShipWorld. It is a great site but strictly limited to shipbuilding.

My next non-ship project is a stagecoach and I was hoping to find a site where I could post a build log of my progress. Since this is my first visit here I don't want to step out of bounds so I am looking for confirmation that it will be okay to start a stagecoach build log.

My other interests include bicycling (about 10,000 road miles a year) and golfing. My friends say I am a role model for being retired....

Don't know about that but I am having fun!

Cheers,

Jim:cheers2:

Where abouts in Fl are you if you don't mind me asking? One of my best mates lives in North Port in Sarasota Cnty. I've been over there quite a few times to stay with him when he and I were both heavily into Corvettes. I'm sorry to say that I've dropped out of the Vette scene now, but he's still a great friend and I hope to get back over there again soon to see him and his Vettes. I may not own them anymore, but it's nice to have someone who will let me drive theirs.

Cheers,
Bob

G'Day & Welcome "to the Great South Land" & to a top forum "Jim".
We have a few blokes from USA on the forum but another model maker is very special for the toy & model making section of the forum...
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork & model making.

Thanks for responding to my post! I'm having a spot of trouble finding my way around but, hopefully, that will change as I get used to it.

Bob,

I'm in Naples....about 2 hours or so south of Sarasota. Next time you get this way, there is a great muscle car museum in Punta Gorda..about an hour south. It's mostly GM stuff as well.

I intend to start a build log and appreciate any comments or feedback. My modeling time has been cut short by a house sale and now remodeling but I hope to get back to it in a month or so. I'm just finishing the Robert E Lee Mississippi riverboat and then will start the Wells Fargo Stagecoach.

Again, Thanks for the visit! :)

Cheers,

Jim

Thanks for the info Jim. I was wondering if these models you build are from kits or completely your own work, also what scale are they?

Thanks again,
Bob

Yes, my models are from kits. As much as scratch buiding might be fun....my wife really doesn't want me to set up a wood shop anywhere. My mini table saw and other tools are fine but I go outdoors to sand, etc. In addition I am not sure I have the skills for scratch building.

My riverboat is 1/160 scale and I believe the stagecoach is 1/16. (The stagecoach is packed away at the moment. Once I find it I'll confirm the scale.)

I'll use pics of the RE Lee to learn how to post a build log here....should I post them in this forum or some other one, like the scale model section under toys?

Cheers,

Jim

Welcome to the forum.

I also tend to sand outside but that's by choice not necessary from higher authority. :U
