Sorry to be negative, I am an i/e user and have been for 15 years and have no feelings and hardly any knowledge using Google Chrome..
This forum will not let me take part in your discussions or post any material using internet explorer.
So if my absence is noted you can find me at that other place Devonwoody at UKworkshop.co.uk
or google devonwoody.
If anyone knows how I can communicate using i/e I would gladly take part.

I only use IE and haven't been locked out yet. Are you sure it isn't anything else that might be the cause John ?

A few people have commented that IE 10 is working well with the forum, what version are you using John?

Internet 9 I'm using.
For around 5 months I was having to use Google Chrome as the only way to enter then miraculously Monday this week after posting this thread, everything is now working normally.
The supplier of my desktop told me i/e 10 would slow down my PC and not wanting the problem of having to do a reinstall if so I am sticking to 9.
Thanks all round for your interest and advice.
(Good to hear from old friends :) )

John, have you turned on compatibility mode for the site? It worked for me.

Perhaps that what happened to get things working normally for me. ( I seem to recall I did touch something with the word compatibility when messing around the other day) I have been using W7 for a year now and many of those kind of switches have no meaning to me.
I even went and purchased a secondhand XP computer last Autumn so I could use some of my apps. that will not work with W7 and above is a classic example of what these later window versions can do to us oldies.
(I am assured that my processor cannot run a separate section on the hard drive for XP and it states such in the manual)
Thanks John

I am using the latest version of Firefox 20.0.1, I don't have any problems with using this forum, of any kind, and I could be classed as a heavy user and do things over and above what other members of the forum members do.
I repeat - no problems of any kind with Firefox with this forum.

Hello Ian, sorry my memory is slipping a bit these days, where you the guy who lent me your Triton tablesaw set up back in 2006 when I was staying at Lane Cove on that extended holiday of ours?
I think one of the issues with forum access is that some of the servers we use have entry issues. I recall back in the early days even an Australian server (was it Opus) was not usable with the forum?
But the final straw for me was last weekend when Chrome would not let me sign in and reply to a thread. But then that miracle occurred and ever since the problem seems to have gone away.
