I'm Jake. Just found this forum by accident this morning, while looking for information on the new workbench I'm building. I'm a 54 year old land surveyor by profession, but love to work with wood. With the kids grown and gone, I'm starting to have more time for woodworking, and recently acquired a 12'x20' storage building that I'm converting to a workshop. I have a few power tools, and hand tools, but am leaning more toward hand tools, as much as possible.

G'Day & Welcome "to the Great South Land" & to a top forum "Jake".
We have a few blokes from USA on the forum, you're one of the first I've welcomed from Oklahoma.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork & the new shed.
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie
PS - Check out the garage or yard sales and the like to help build up your tool collection; the older tools are often better quality & built to last.

Southwest Oklahoma? I guess it really is a small world. What city? I used to live in Lawton, years ago. Live in the central part of the state now. We had some close calls with tornadoes just last night. The wife and I were ready to head underground, but they fizzled out before they got to us. Ended up with over 3 inches of rain though. We've been in a drought for the last 2 years, and really needed it.
