... instead of which some just fit in the spaces, and a lot of trade vehicles extend beyond the space (and that is with out the trailer).

Used to have an Austin 1800 - lovely car to drive but it got so bad that I would put a tray underneath in carparks.:C

I think it was because the Menzies era had a policy of 'Empire Preference' meaning that the Brits secured all the trade of the Commonwealth.
European, Japanese, and American cars were tariffed out of our range. So we were left with british, which always leak oil, still do ...

I think that's because parking lots are getting smaller and smaller and old cars are staying the same size... so now they're leaving their puddles in the "road" servicing the spots instead of between the lines!
(Hell, I'm sure that if our s/wagon had both engine and transmission leaks they'd be further apart than most parking spots are long, nowadays! :sigh: )

It's a bit like me Art, in my young days I use to be a well oiled machine, now I just piddle bits of water.

Hey All,
In my earlier years we went to lots of rallies, and at one of these I was informed by a 'Very British Gentleman'. "Jaguars don't Leak Oil, they Just Mark their spot", like all British machinery 8-0

We used to get water from leaking pipes but now it's from the air-conditioners. Remember the summer days driving with windows wide open and sticking to the vinyl seats.:D
