Withn the numbers attending it's lucky I am personally going to bake a fresh batch of Anzacs and fill the Hunter Valley Forum Anzac container.
Did you bake them Paul?

No i wanted to make sure they'd be edible. Thanks to the same maker as the last Sydney show Ms Pac man.

There were 42. There may not be that many by Sunday.

[QUOTE=Pac man;1642030]Not necessarily this is "THE FORUMS OFFICIAL ANZAC BISCUIT TRANSPORTER. This humble piece of tupperware is held in high regard by stalwarts such as claw hama, wheelinround and scribbly gum"
QUOTE]

Pac man and Mrs Pac man,
As the STEWARD OF THE FORUM'S OFFICIAL ANZAC BISCUIT TRANSPORTER I need to warn you that you may be playing with powers beyond your control. I have checked its history and have identified the following 3 alarming facts...

the first historical reference to this container is that it was the source of the legend that Norman Lindesay translated into his fabulous book about the SELF FILLING Magic Pudding ... in between bouts of painting naked ladies!
the second reference is its use in the first 3 episodes of Doctor Who where it was the prototype Tardis. It still would be if Tupperware hadn't objected to its use without paying royalties and John Pertwee's constant request for free replacement lids!
the third is that it belongs to Mrs Fletty and I think she is starting to disbelieve my assertion that it was taken by Somali pirates as I crossed the Nepean River on my way back from the last Katoomba GTG. (Personally I think it was an inside job ... who else would have known?? hmmmm Pac man, NC Archer ..... :; and that's not to mention the most Somali looking of them all...... Ozhunter!! )

However, many thanks for refilling it. I couldn't bear the thought of all those grown men (skews gal and Lola would be far to clever to do this) staring into the empty container waiting for the magic pudding spirit to do its thing!

Hey Fletty, on a side note, I finally used the Raised Panel tooling on the moulder on Sunday. Doesn't that remove timber at a frightening rate. I was very careful not to put soft squishy bits anywhere near the thing. Even at 8 thou rpm, the moulder was nearly a helo :;

Perhaps I'll have more to say about this on Sunday, but the only time Lola stares into an empty container is when she has been the emptier.

She's an extraordinary generous gal, BUT if you are not around at the time...well let's just say I'm desparately hoping we never have to share a Red Cross Parcel.

I have developed some strategies to counter this aberration. Take last night for example. She had repeatedly told me that she wasn't at all hungry, as she had some sandwiches quite late in the day. I have long ago learned to ignore this as mere rhetoric. I finished my dinner with some excellent Stilton cheese on one of the new 4x4" Vitawheats (and a better combo is hard to find). I was of course very much looking forward to the second installment of this excellent combo, to round things off.

A small aside: of the entire packet, there were two VWs left, and I had previously consumed one only. I figured that I was very justifiably entitled to the last two, which would make my total consumption of the packet about 20%.

"Hmm" I heard above Tony Jones lampooning a couple of fools on the Q&A panel, "I might just have a piece of that Jarlsberg". Knowing what was to immediately follow, I carefully arranged my fork in a semi-stabbing position.

Sure enough, the arm outstretched again in the direction of said last VW 4x4 (err, that's a biscuit, not a Hitler inspired SUV). At the precise moment that the fingers clutched the biscuit, the tynes of fork were placed almost gently, but firmly into the top of the offending hand, which remained at rest rather than withdrawing with booty.

"Didn't you see me preparing the fork?" I asked, knowing that her concentration was "elsewhere".

"No" she protested, "but there is another packet".

"Ah, well that's ok then, carry on my love, and enjoy".

:roflmao:

Plan at this time - leaving either fri nite or Sat morn. Monday might have to pick up so etching in Sydney for my son. If anyone wants a lift in any of this I should be available.

Might bring a burl or two. Anyone gonna have a lathe running? I should bring a bowl blank for a swap I'm in - maybe I'd get some tool time. Got heaps of tools I could bring bit not sure if I could bring myself to part with any.

Likewise. After all you were the man who introduced me to Ashley (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f43/my-new-man-cave-wip-162031/) , not that she will reply to my emails either :( , although my interest in photography took quite an upward trend.

It's going to be a good day on Sunday if Brett can just get the temperature above freezing. Still there will be enough of us espousing hot air to raise the temp a couple of degrees surely. If the worst comes to the worst we can burn off a little of that Tallow Wood: I don't think it is being used for anything now that there is not much of it left anyway.

You may have to develop your own forum identity. I will put on my thinking cap for you. Others might like to do the same (but you'll have to use your own cap). Just to start off. This is a bit obscure:

"Ms Jensen."

And the clue is:

265119

:).

Regards
Paul

I forgot to explain and there have been a lot of pages under the bridge since that post.

Jensen developed the Interceptor which was a four seater sports sedan with a Chrysler 5.7L V8 (later they used a 6.2L version), but they also marketed the Jensen FF (starting to see the connection?) which featured a constant four wheel drive system sharing 75% to the rear and 25% to the front. FF stood for Fergusson Formula. The car also featured Maxaret anti skid braking, which was the forerunner of ABS.

Technically the car had these ground breaking components, which today are commomplace. The car was a little longer than the Interceptor, but very difficult to tell at a glance except for the two vents on the front wing compared to a single vent for the Interceptor.

There you are. Everything is clear now and I thought you would welcome a little educational post amongst all this flippant posting that is whipping up a frenzy :p.

The winners of the competition were Fence Furniture, Ms Fence Furniture and Grumpy John, who will shortly become proud owners of a bucket :( . Third, fourth and fifth prizes were two buckets each, but nobody won those :? .

BoM has changed status for Sunday its dropped a degree to 13C but now sunny Central Tablelands weather - district weather forecast (http://www.weatherzone.com.au/region.jsp?lt=wzdist&lc=n16&d=2)

14c was boader line for me:( as it was/is cause those temps are not if your in the shade or if a breeze is about which Katoomba is known to have.......its all those blow ins from the south and west.

I shall keep a close watch.

Yes I see that it's just changed. Sunny and 13 sounds like a weird combo though.

We're down off the top of the hill here and reasonably sheltered from the wind (there's a big difference when you walk up to the highway). The yard gets sun most of the day (esp. up to 1 o'clock), but you have to move around from time to time.

The Bowling Club has been disused for some years.

Tomorrow's number stands at 40 (Woodnut had to pull out with a crook back).

Beautiful weather again today. The forecast temp was 19, windy, partly cloudy. The reality was 21, a little bit of cirrus cloud (the really high wispy stuff) which was gone by about 9am, and a little bit of wind that was gone by about 11am. Right now the Eucalypts on top of the ridge (my wind marker) are completely still.

Looking at the synoptic chart, I'm deeply suspicious that the forecast can be correct. Can't see how it can be sunny and 13 with only light SE winds - just doesn't stack up. It can be sunny and 13 if there's wind chill factor from strong southern winds. The wind map shows that they drop off to bugger all in the middle of the day anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's a repeat of today, perhaps a bit cooler.

Btw, important to note that the BOM forecast is unlikely to be updated over the weekend....there's nobody there.

That leaves you with info from Johnny On The Spot. :D

See ya soon. I'm there now. Just been for a walk outside and it is rather pleasant. So long as there is no wind it will be a nice day if it stays like this.

Hi to all.

Sorry I couldn't make it , but have spoken to Brett and Tony. Hope you have a fantastic day.

Was looking forward to meeting Bushmiller - his father-in-law used to have a property in Clarence Town and I knew him quite well.

Yes Ray, I did buy a couple of SMALL pieces:U:U:U:U:U of timber on Friday. Although it filled the ute (or maybe a bit higher than that, you have to make allowance for all the lost space due to the wheel arches!!! If only I'd left before Dorno arrived, no-one would have known.

Congrats for getting such a great turnout Brett, and I am looking forward to the next Blue Mts GTG. I really appreciated our chat the other night, and make sure nobody walks any dust into that immaculate workshop. Almost a white glove area. You could probably wear white socks as well.

Cheers,
Paul
