Hi Guys.

This is my first time on the forum and I am new to all of this.
Any advice would be most welcome.

I am studying a Cert. III in Furniture making at Holmesglen TAFE in Melbourne and I am making a dining table out of Blackbutt for my final project of the course.

I'm entering the final stages of assembly and I'd like to know what would be the best finish for the table that will give it a natural look and should last a long time without too much maintenance.
I have very little experience in finishing and I don't want to mess up the table.
I am not very familiar with some of the finishing products or methods of application.
I have plenty of Blackbutt cut-offs to practice on and compare finishes.
I also casted some clear resin in to some of the gum vanes and splits in the timber, will this affect what finish should be used?

If anyone is willing to meet up with me and show me some of the different finishes and methods of application I'd be happy to pay them for the lesson.

Underneath the table I have some drawers made out of Rosewood and stained VIC Ash what would be the best finish for them?

Thanks Jordan.
