Hi All,
This has taken a week to get over.
Last Thurs. evening, I was traveling to a Meeting in Lara, Vic.
Following a Big Toyota FJ Cruiser with bigger Tyres than normal, on my guess.
Kicked up a Large hunk of Truck Tyre, 1M. x ½M. full tread.
Hit my '96 Toyota Hi Ace SWB just below the RH Headlight.
Passed under My Van, & I wasn't aware of any Damage till later that night.
Apparently it had cut 2 pipes, 1 for Water & 1 for the Gas Line.
So it actually cooked the Motor. Insurers WROTE IT OFF.
Very Sad am I.
Was allowed to remove almost everything, stored in the Van.
Will be fully Paid out, Agreed Value, but had to pay $500 Excess, & I thought that was a bit tough.
So to look for another Van as my Old Van was a Beauty.

So I'm looking for a :
Toyota Hi Ace Van, Short Wheel Base, Auto, Lowish K's. White, & Around $10000, hopefully less, & in Vic.

The Tragic part was My Beautiful Old Van, stopped in the same spot as where it hit the Tyre, only on the Opposite side, of the Ring / Bypass Road at Geelong Vic.

Sorry to read of the loss. :(

Vehicles can be like part of the family, loved and lived with.

Hopefully you are able to find another to take its place and give joy to hundreds of people with your public woodturning.

Hard lines Isa!:o

It was a good work horse and run-a-bout for you and Dot.

I hope you find something suitable real soon.

Certainly worth considering. I think you may be able to find out from the insurer when it will be sold or auctioned.

Hi Tony, Paul,
Yes, I see what your saying, but sadly she was in rather poor condition.
At 1 Stage I noticed all this moss on the roof. Scraped it off, but it took the paint as well, & there is rust there & in 2 other spots, & all around the windscreen.
Wood have liked to have had her Painted, but they put such a price on her
( $10000), well, they just didn't want to do it.
Thank you all, for your comments.
Have gone through 40 pages of Hi Aces so far, but I think I said that ?

Sounds a bit like when my HiAce was written off (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f43/what-these-people-thinking-126905/) at the end of 2010.

Full sympathies !
