Hi All
Just starting out in making furniture and wanting to buy a spray gun. I've used the star s770 and was wondering if stars hvlp gun sv770-113s might be a better way to go. I'll be using the stylewood.
i notice these gun don't have a air adjustment at the bottom of the handle, why would this be do i just set the pressure on the compressor?
Thanks

I think it anticipates that anyone using this gun is going to be using a regulator on the line - usually right next to the gun. The air is controlled thru the reg and the air adj screw (if it exists) is simply backed right out.

The hvlp will have less overspray - particularly important with stylewood cos its not cheap and not very good for the environment. Make sure you have the compressor output to drive it.

I use Stylewood and a star Lvlp gun, good for smaller items but I acknowledge I'd need to go Hvlp if doing furniture.

Cheers

Also, thinking about it, you'll get a better result spraying a sealer under the Stylwood. I use Wattyl Rediseal - but find that i need a 1.7 or 2mm setup or more for that. The 1.5 setup on that gun really wont spray it.
Because the sealer soaks in and whats left gets sanded off, i dont worry about spraying sealer neatly and just use a supercheap auto cheapie gun for sealer.
