Hi folks, I'm Ryan from California (US). I'm a multi-trade job superintendant for a custom home builder, but i prefer to think of myself as a finish carpenter because woodworking is what i truly enjoy.
I notice that members here are from all over the world so you'll have to forgive me if my terminology is a little off.
Ive been in construction for about 10 years now spending about half my time on carpentry. But because i work for a general conractor, i end up doing a little of everything. Im usually on a job from the time framing begins all the way up to hanging artwork on the walls after the customer has moved in.
We build large and extravagant homes (by my standards) in the 7-10,000 sq foot range. Ive been fortunate enough to work along side alot of really talented folks over the years but still have a long way to go. Im becoming a bit of a jack-of-all trades i suppose but woodwork is where my heart lies.
For the sake of off-topic conversation, Im also into music (guitar mainly), beer, competition shooting, hiking, camping, and all sorts of other outdoor stuff. I look forward to picking your brains for my future projects, throwing in my 2 cents whenever possible, and filling these boards with long-winded ramblings like this post. Ive only been here an hour amd this forum looks incredible. Cheers!
