View Full Version : Indian indeces

There were three Indian squaws. One slept on a deer skin, one slept on an elk skin, and the third slept on a hippopotamus skin. All three became pregnant. The first two each had a baby boy. The one who slept on the hippopotamus skin had twin boys. This just goes to prove that the squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sons of the squaws of the other two hides.

You must be an indian too Paul - you're brave to post that :U

(We really do need a "groan" emoticon don't we?)

I think it is just as well Pythagoras is no longer with us. Would he have seen the funny side of it and which of the three would that have been :) ?

Good question - I hadn't thought of that angle.

I suppose only the deer and elk skins were tanned?

I think that might have been right with the skins over a certain size. Even the indigenous americans were entering a period of bureaucracy where red tape prevailed over reason. To get permission to tan a hide of hippo proportions the paperwork had to be sined and cosined.

(Where'd you hide that groan emoticon Bob?)

That is either an obtuse, or an acute way of looking at it.

Guess you cant have your π and eat it!

Also goes to show that without geometry life would be pointless.

No.!. No.!. No.!. What have I done? I've created a monster.

Anybody else wanting to post a pun worthy of Bob's emoticon may do so after forwarding a suitable bribe to me. A try square, engineer's square, combination square or similar, but preferably all of a superior quality like Colen Clenton's tools or our own Ian Wilkie :D:p.

Do you mean try squaw, engineers squaw etc etc

If he means that then, three squaws in a triangle makes a geometrical oddity.

Tan never involves the hippopotamus.

SOHCAHTOA?

Squaw On Hippopotamus Cares About Her Twins Over Anything

OK, it's very contrived and not funny - so sioux me :p

That's not Apache on some we've heard or are likely to hear :- .

PS. I never hear SOHCAHTOA without thinking of the tiny island in Indonesia that in 1883 made the largest explosion in modern times and arguably the biggest Tsunami too.

This is just another typical thread on the woodwork forum, after the first three posts it goes off on a tangent - where's that icon again?

Mod should come in and say that this thread has covered all angles

I absolutely agree. It's a disgrace. Digression after digression. Not being a moderator it is not my place to reprimand the perpertrators or mention any names, but they are all there in the previous posts.

Perhaps some commonsense will prevail and it'll strike a chord with a mod . Possibly we should have a special set of icons ( groan, kick in the bum and Madame guillotine are the first three that came to mind) to counter digressive tendencies.

Ehh? Did we (I ) just digress again?

Me thinks that if you had three squaws in a triangle they would squawble a lot :2tsup:
