As I was hearing the reports on the radio I was hoping Allan is safe.

Anxiously waiting for him to come on and reassure us.

Sorry guys, did not see this until I had finished putting
in a response to an earlier thread, "Way to hot" by
another Forumite.

I was returning from a funeral today and was twenty
kilometres from home when I turned on the radio. The
fire was about one kilometre from where we live and
with the aid of a gentle Southerly breeze was advancing
toward us.
On arriving home I turned the cars around in case we had
to vacate the premises and immediately alerted my immediate
neighbours.
Fortunately the twenty units that attended the fire managed
to contain it. I understand it is still burning but under control.
We are in fairly hilly country around here with plenty of grass
and trees ... thanks to the local brigades for attending and
succeeding.

Thanks for your interest (again) as we had a scare a couple
of years ago with the Black Saturday fires.
