Not sure if this is a forum issue or an issue with my computer, although it is associated only with forum emails, and it's never happened before.

Twice in the last 24 hours, I have received emails from the forum that have been dated 25 and 26 January 00, time is also way out of wack.

I've gotten probably 50 emails from elsewhere and a few from the forum in the same 24 hours with no date issues.

Just FYI.

Windows 7
IE8

Me too. It's not just your computer. I've had several. I also got one from another forum with the 2000 date yesterday.

So all that stuff about the Y2K bug wasn't malarkey, after all....

No forum emails but a few from other sources with that date.

Just out of interest are any of you with Bigpond like me as I also have all my emails forwarded to my Gmail account with no date issues with those.

Yep, I'm with Bigpond. Might be a Telstra issue, but it's only happened to me with forum notifications and not with any other mail. Mine are forwarded too, but the originals are automatically deleted so I can't compare sizes.
It's not a problem, just interesting. (These emails appear at the bottom of my Inbox instead of the top, too, due to the date.)

Wasn't the world supposed to end this week? This might just be the beginning.

What dates are in the headers ? As emails moves from mail server to mail server, each one adds date and time info to the header. It may tell you something.

This url may help. It's not specifically gmail just from google/gmail.

Mine are already deleted. If I get another I'll check it. (Using Outlook Express - it's easy to check the headers.)

Seems to be as I suspected within Bigpond.

Yeah right, the date was correct until BogPond got their hands on it.

I had four from different sources yesterday but the issue seems to have been rectified now by Telstra?
Cheers, Ian

I'm with Bigpond as well. I got one last night, but none since.

All the ones I got have been deleted as well. Hopefully it's fixed now.

Bigpond aren't my favorite people right now and this only adds to it. Our connection has been playing up like a second hand chainsaw. I thought the date thing was just an extension of that.

Technology is great..........while it's working

What you are seeing is the "date received". If you change your email client's settings to display "date sent" then all should be well.

At least for pop3 server systems anyway, but probably others too.
