The last time I was in Aus was in 92... But the place and the people are somthing I never forgot. Back then it seemed from my point of view that you all had something I really respect - backbone, something really lacking in canukistan. It's one of the major reasons I chose to put myself through all the hastle to emmigrate. But as of late I've been reading up on things down under on this forum and on other sources and have gottem a bit concerned. You're starting to sound like spineless canadians. Please tell me I'm wrong and you haven't gotten in touch with yer feminin side. You still pee standing up dont you?

I dunno. What sort of things are you worried about? One thing I need to warn you about, they're a very girly bunch up there in QLD. First sign of a bit of cold weather and they start sniffling and moaning about it. Down here in the south, you have to be tough to survive.
SWMBO was heading up to Cooma to play golf this morning. She had been keeping an eye on the weather and it had been 3-16deg for the last few days. This morning it was 6 and forecasting 19 during the day. "God, it's a bloody heat wave" she exclaimed as she reached for the plus-fours. I warned her that people will be passing out in the streets.
Nah, there's a few poofs over here but mostly we're stand up to pee, sit down to drink and bend over to spew types like you remember from last time.

Mind you, it's a bloody long time since we ACTUALLY had a sign of cold weather.. .... 9.16 pm April 5th 2005 Current temperature a balmy 21.5° (exactly the temperature of our air conditioning in the office) and a mere 100% humidity.
BTW Mat, you need to keep track of the weather here by the hour!

Depending on how good she looks we are more likely to touch the feminine by your side. :D We pee when and where we like, sittin' standin' or face first in the gutter. You wanna make something of it, step outside and we'll settle it like gentlemen, over a large glass of really cold beer that is. :D
I'm sure we are the same as when you left us last time, we gotta act like pussies in public or the nazis get us.

Been there and done that! She has even been to Rocker's place. That was a nice introduction. My 3yo son threw up in the car on the way, so my first words to Rocker were "Hi, pleased to meet you. Mind if I rinse this spew off my kid's T-shirt under your tap?".

Oh, so there are more and less God-like regions in God's own? So when you cross the border and step back in time you still have a long way to go before reaching paradise? Do you travel further back in time the further north you head?
You have heard of the space shuttle, right?

If you've ever read Pilgrim's progress, you'll understand it was an allegory about travelling from Melbourne to the tip of Cape York!

I'll have you know I've been to Brisbane 3 times. It is in QLD isn't it? I mean, it's the capital and all. What else is there to see? :p
So, getting back to the topic of the thread, you say you've been to paradise Cliff, but have you ever been to you?
Midge, I did read Pilgrim's Progress when I was a kid. Don't remember much about it but I'm sure there were no toads in it. No windmills either...

Matt,
Most Aussies had their spines surgically removed with the inception of your neighbours favourite passtime, "CIVIL LITIGATION". Some of us will still tell you what we think though. :p

SilentC,
At least you can be happy that your son pees standing up; only trouble was that he was in the pool at the time, and started boasting about it :)

Yes, the little bugger. I've had to teach him to make sure he's in waist deep before he does that, otherwise our friends with the pool wouldn't let us come back. :D
