View Full Version : Where are you from again?

I was travelling home today with the radio on ABC's Drive time which in the Toowoomba area is hosted by Craig Zonca, not that I knew that until today.

Anyhow the topic of George Lucas' sellout to Disney must have been discussed because Craig confessed he had never seen a Star Wars movie. Now I'm not a habitual movie goer or Star Wars buff but I have seen a couple of them. I know the characters of Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo and Darth Vader etc.

In fact I once met the original Darth Vader (Dave Prowse) but that is an indication of my extremely tenuous claim to fame .

I mused that if Craig had mentioned to them he had not seen any of the movies they might have retorted.

" I see. And what planet do you come from?"

I suppose that's Gen Y for you.

Paul

Do you mean the original I - III or the re-numbered I - III? I never did understand "prequel".

However, Disney also happen to have Joss Wheadon under contract till 2015....if they got him to write/direct the next Star Wars I think that would be a sufficient apology for I-III.

I believe the originals were a superb piece of cinematography at the time and some will still argue they still are. Noone will ever take away my memory of seeing these at the flicks. I've seen the prequels which give context to the originals but never came close to capturing that magic of Star Wars. After Jar Jar Binks, anything after that would be brilliant.

My understanding is that Harrison Ford shares the same viewpoint with you.
