Over the last couple of months I have had a prolem with Internet Explorer giving me a message
that the forums are not responding. This happens on 10% or more of ocassions that I try to post.

It is very frustrating to say the least.

Is this a fault with the forums? If not what might be the problem at my end?

Since the forum upgrade the problem with IE9 has got worse. I'm a complete halfwit when it comes to computer programmes so I don't understand what the problems are; however enough clued up forum members (including moderators) have indicated that it is IE itself causing the dramas.

The best thing you can do (and I did) is upload Firefox and/or Google Chrome. I now have all three browsers on my desktop and use Firefox approximately 99% of the time, it took me only a few minutes to download everything. Your favourites can be transferred from IE to Firefox and Chrome with one click of an icon. Not had a problem since.

The hard bit is climbing down off the "I don't like change" and "I don't understand this so I'm reluctant to do anything" pedestals. My partner has been using Chrome for well over a year and used to berate me constantly for sticking with IE for no reason other than "it's what I've always used".

I still have to use IE at work and now regard it as a pain.

I too and anther guy I know on the forum is also suffering a lot of problems since it was changed. I have google chrome, it crashes as well. The big bug bear I am having is when I go to attach a photo (managed images), I seem to be able to only add one, then have to save my content, then go back and edit to load another image, and repeat the process hoping it doesn't lock up (which it has) and then sometimes the whole posting is lost. Sometimes I can recover my text other times, not. I don't seem to be able to add more than 3 images without major problems. It is also slow to save a post, so I don't know what is happening but from my perspective it would appear the new/upgraded/sorry ubeaut (:D) software is not a patch on the previous version.

I'm running Firefox 16.0.2. Its faster and have not had a problem with the Forum upgrade.:2tsup:
I avoid Microsoft products as much as I can. They just want to take over your pc and create compatibility issues.

I've been told that IE 9 was designed to work with Windows 8 which has only just been released. But be aware that Windows 8 is totally different from the other Window versions and is not backwardly compatible.

It is a whole new operating system so going to a different browser is the best option.

For those of you that are having problems, please refer to the existing thread running in regards to any problem and if you're still having problems, please post in that thread rather than starting a new one, thank you.
