Rhubarb.

I reckon God only gave us rhubarb for when everything else had run out. My Mum used to tell me it's nice with apple, but nothing buggers up a great apple crumble like making it a rhubarb and apple crumble.

I'll bet you don't have to spray the bloody stuff to keep the insects off it!!

Echinda should be coated in mud then BAKED in the coals of the fire.
This way the spines stay in the mud. (now brick hard)

Detest rhubarb and tripe. Pumpkin is cattle food. Choko is not food at all, but is excellent for having choko fights with.

You've all probably eaten more Choko than you think - it is a prime ingredient in commercial 'fruit' pie fillings - it is just about impossible to turn green Choko into sludge by over cooking, there are still some chunky bits left. Macca's got into trouble with their 'Apple' thingies - now they are just apple sludge without Choko. There is also another name for them, used in the US of A to make them sound special, but I can't remember it at the moment.

Agree about Brussel Sprouts - blech :p Also Broccoli that's not stir fried, just boiled to sludge. Ditto the peculiar stuff that inhabits 'Bain Marie's in RSL dinning rooms. I think Billy Connolly was right - some B*****D follows drunk around with a tin of the stuff & leaves little heaps of it behind.

My Elderly Mother (& her mother) could make any green vegtable vile beyond imagining - her best effort was boiled lettuce - I wouldn't even come inside the house until it was gone. I'm not sure if one of her friends who supplied the receipe was just bad at transmitting information, or was trying to enact some weird punishment on our family.
