Hi. Can anyone tell me what difference I can expect between a typical cheap hvlp gun and a good quality one. Is it just a usability thing, a length of service thing, or is it something about the spray that comes out ? better atomised ? less orange peel ???
I recently got into spraying lacquer and first up I bought one of those sets of 3 cheap guns - a touch up gun, a 1.4 and a 1.7 hvlp. I did this because I thought that if I never had the chance to put three dissimilar guns (and therefore approaches) side by side I'd never learn the difference between them, and there would be a big gap missing in my knowledge.
Now I dont mind upgrading. I'm trying to figure out what to expect - there is no point in upgrading if the only advantage I get is something that is not particularly meaningful to me. However I dont want to carry on using cheap guns if there is something inherent in them that means I will never get a high quality job.
