I have outgrown my current budget HVLP spray gun that I use for spraying furniture. I am not totally satisfied with my finishes and want to get better results so I'm on the hunt for a new gun.
My budget is around the $300 mark and I have been looking at the Star range of HVLP guns as they seem like good deal for your buck. My current compressor is only 8cfm so a bit light on but has not been a major issue but may be a factor in the quality of my finishes due to pressure drop.
I have come across the Earlex range of HVLP turbine units that has caught my eye. In particular the HV5000 Pro for $500 through Carbatec. The extra couple of hundred dollars spent seems like a good idea for my situation but I have never used a turbine unit or know anyone local who uses one.
I mostly spray 2 pac polly and Varnish on items from small shelves to large dinning tables. I am concerned about spraying the larger items I make as I can see that the smaller items will be fine with the HV5000 but would it handle larger items?
I would like to know peoples views that have used the Earlex guns and there capability's and would it suit my situation or would I be better off going the new Star gun with the intention of upgrading my compressor in the future. Any other suggestions that are within my budget would be appreciated.
.Thanks...Mark
