I just received my brand new Earlex HVLP 5000 sprayer from Manchester, England, for AU$355 including delivery to Caboolture, Qld, Australia, in 5 days. Unbeliveable I know but true and I saved AU$145 on the Carba-tec price. I asked Carba-tec if they would like to give me a competitive price but they refused. The only thing I got to do is replace the plug to an Australian type which is easy to do. I hope to be spraying shellac very soon.:D:D

That's an excellent price considering shipping charges these days.

Are these sort of systems OK for a beginner?
I have a friend who wants to spray some new kitchen cupboards and once the weather gets warmer, paint the exterior of the house. I'm sure I could find a use for it as well.

Bump this old post up.

Superbunny, did you buy your Earlex 5000 from this seller ?

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350632678115&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123#ht_1032wt_906)

I just asked him about the 5000 or 5500 model, they don't sell it. Just wonder what's the difference between the 3 => 4500, 5000 and 5500

Yes, and I'm very happy with it, I've been spraying shellac over the last few weeks, works great. No idea of the differences in model, don't buy from a US supplier as it's not 240 volt but 110 volts and is no good in Australia.

I believe the 5000 is old model, it is replaced by 5500. The only difference between 4500 and 5500 is 4500 has 50W less power than 5500, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Still keep thinking :) I also consider getting the 7000 (same as 6900 in USA), but none of the UK tool online shop want to ship to Australia :(

I purchased my Earlex 5000 from this ebay seller and i would highly recomend them. Great to deal with and super fast postage. The Earlex is a great unit. I spray mostly nitro and poly. I couldnt find anyone in australia that supplied different size needles so I had to purchase extras from another uk ebay seller.
