I have used reeded decking on a verandah and one person commented that I had installed it the wrong side up. I had put the reeded side up. The house is of in a tropical climate and the timber is pine. This is the second time someone has commented that the reeded decking should be installed smooth side up. The explanantion I was given is that this stops the decking from warping or it stops the wood from rotting the floor joists underneath.
