Hi All

Yes I am yet another lurker coming out of the wood work, so to speak. According to my join date of the site I have now been lurking for a little over three years........

To say that I have learnt a few things during my lurking would be an extremely big understatement. For me this forum is both a source of invaluable information and inspiration. For this reason I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone that contributes and makes this possible for all!

My wife and I run a small takeaway and find that most weeks we seem to work all seven days............so much for a work/life balance. This coupled with a son who is about to turn three leaves very little workshop time. However due to a few changes I now have about twelve hours per week to myself which gives me time to start my next big project.......the building of a lapstrake boat. I am about to build an Iain Oughtred designed Gannet and will start a thread in the appropriate section shortly.

After all my lurking I feel that it is now time to stick my own neck out for some healthy criticism and guidance, as well as the opportunity to share any knowledge that I may have (this may be very limited but who knows............).

So here goes...............

Cheers, Brett

G'Day & Welcome "Brett" to a top forum.
Yes you'll surely fid a heap of helpful & knowledgable blokes & ladies on the forum all very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Enjoy the forum.
Cheers, crowie

PS - Do yourself a favour & head up into the everglades in the new boat you're going to build for some R&R....At least it was beautiful in the 1970's, 1980's & 1990's......
