Hi Guys
I have seamed to stuffed up a staining job ( i know done it hundreds of times )
Item 2 timber chair frames (my parents) about to be recovered and timber wrong colour. I say no problems I fix that for you, the guy recovering the chiars drop off stripped chair frames.
The timber has a teak spray on finish, using belt, orbital and hand sanding coating removed, bare timber. I am no expert when it comes to know what timber it is but it is not quite a soft as pine but light in colour...
Anyway mix up some wattel craftman stain dark mahogeny and black, got the perfect match to other furniture in their lounge. Stained chair frames looked great, left a day then sprayed with cna on poly base clear again looked great
Went down to check on it last night, the stain and clear has flaked off in a couple of places about the size of half a one cent piece.
What have a done ???? Never had any problems staining things and my hands before.....
Don
