Hi guys,

I am looking for cement sheet to lay over the timber floor so that I can put the tile. I live in Melbourne, does anyone know anywhere I can pick up cheap cement sheet?

Thank you.

Cheers,
Wes

Thank you for your prompt reply Justin. It is pity they do not have price on their web site.

Wes,

I'd been told about these guys as a good source of cheap materials and that cement underlay was $10/sheet (1800x900x6) .. their web site has a specials page that confirms this. http://www.tileimporters.com.au/specials_f_s.html (Note the Hardy sheet is 1800x1200x6 and is $20+ at Bunnys .. guess what I bought before hearing about tile importers :( )

The other advise I had was that Sat am is manic in the place (not open in the arvo) so if you can get there during the week, or early .. it might save the blood pressure.

If it was my house this is against the manufacter's but maybe ring around large timber yards a get a heap of damaged sheets of 6mm villaboard dirt cheap and just nail that down, the underlay is not really a structual layer its just something for the adhesive to bond to.

Timber yards have dick heads that drive fork lifts and they always seem to break the edges of the sheets thus being worthless and a pile of crap.

Robot Trading in Notting Hill aren't too bad for pricing of FC sheeting. www.robottrading.com.au (http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/search/redirect.jhtml?url=www.robottrading.com.au) they usually have a specials page.
