There is some debate as to whether dogs see colour as humans do and whether they can make out images on TV. All I know is that when any kind of animal comes on TV our toy poodle goes nuts. He's taught one of the other dogs to do the same. It gets really funny when they go round the back of the TV looking for whatever animal they've been barking at.

IMHO yes they can to a degree, my Border Collie that I had years ago and Jed that I've just put down, both used to bark at RACV vehicles as an old mate of mine drove one and they would let loose when one drove pass as they would think it was him.

I think it was more of a problem with them seeing the old TVs. My Mum's dogs are always racing round the back of the telly to get stuff.

I have a deer head on the wall of our study. My weimaraner goes nuts if she ever gets inside, a heads into the room beside the study trying to find the back end.
12 years and she hasn't found it yet.::D

Our BC likes ABC kiddies programs like "In the night garden". I think its a combo of the squeaky noises and the bright colours
