Hi everyone,

I've got some old casement windows in my place that I'm planning on removing to stip and dip the lead paint from. My only problem is that I'm having some serious difficulty loosening and removing the slot headded screws from the hinges on the window sills. I've cleared the paint from around the screws, lightly hammered the screwdriver and put so much downward pressure on the screws my hands are bruised!

I'm now contemplating drilling the heads off the nails, boring out the screw from the window sills with a hole saw, removing the screws and re-puttying the hole back so I can return the Casements to the same spot after they've been dipped and stipped.

Before I go too far, does anyone have any experience doing this or similar and have any better advice about what I should do?? :~

Thanks!
Roh
