View Full Version : Time Out

The time has come unfortunately for some time out.

Get the new bandsaw toy and My wheels sort of fall off.

Have got to the stage it is hard to even walk to the shed.

On Wednesday 2/3 go into hospital to try & find the cause. Found a faulty heart valve last time; so might need a valve regrind.:D

Damn these things hit with a rush. 3 weeks ago couldn't take the bin out (1.3km round trip) ; last week trouble getting to the shed & back.

So be warned; DON'T be too complacent with any chest pains.

Sorry to hear that mate, I hope they find out what's wrong and that soon you'll be able to get back to the shed.

Does this mean we can't say stuff that'll make you mad  for a while, so your heart rate remains constant???

I'll try to be good.

Toggy. It will all go well. We have some of the best surgeons in the world for that work here in Melb.
Make sure you do a cardiac rehab course - well worth while.
Good luck

Thanks for the well wishes folks.
Start with some tests at Shepparton 1st thing in the morning. Wednesday is stress tests etc (where they found the crook valve) at Shep private. Any problems it is "do not pass the front door, go directly to St Vincents or Melbourne Private." I figure he played monopoly as a kid. Most are usually airlifted out that night or next morning.
That head job that Grunt mentioned sounds a better deal.

my mother rang this evening with the "good" news. The old aunt had the same problem and just had 2 stents put in. Bit of a family failing obviously.

At $1000 an inch for them; just think of the woodie tools we could be buying.
Got a rev from no 2 son today when I mentioned that if anything was to go wrong; with my luck they will give me a bludy CHIPBOARD box.

hey toggy at $1000 an inch thats expensive, knock up your own in the shop and take them in with you then you can still buy the new tools when you come out.http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon7.gifhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon7.gif

See you soon, good luck

BJ,

if I was to look around the metal lathe I could probably find some nice curly bits of swarf.

Far from hygenic enough and far to damn sharp for my likings.

Hope all goes well Toggy.

I like Grunt's idea of the head job too but it might put too much stress on the ticker.

Actually, just what is involved with this stress test ? :)

Craig, his bill should cause enough stress to do the trick.:D:D

1st one I had was on a walking treddle & wired up to the ECG.

Last one was wired up again whilst pedalling the bike. He had this new ultrasound machine ($250 000) and when the pressure came on you could see the heart pumping (or trying to) and blood passing from one chamber to the next. Oxygenated blood showed up red and other as blue if I remember correctly. The valve was just flapping and not closing; allowing blood to flow back. He was mighty pleased with his new toy and reckoned it had just paid for itself. Thankfully I didn't have to pay for it.

Obviously you haven't had his bill yet Toggy. :D

Good luck with the rest of your tests.

If its a couple of stents you'll be as right as rain mate. Had mine put in at Royal North Shore in Sydney nearly five years ago and you can feel the improvement within minutes - yes minutes. I'm still not 100% but 95% still feels good to me. Rots of Ruck mate. :D :D
