I live at the end of a dead end road but it does connect up with another dead end road of which sometimes has a chain across it to prevent people from driving through. Lots of complaints has been made to the local shire to do something about it, as it has a seasonal watercourse in between that was a habitat to a species of frogs but not anymore as too much damage as been done over the last few years.

Anyway, last night night a couple of yobbos drove thru from my end which doesn't have a chain but on getting to the other end, they realise the chain was up for a change, so they did a u-turn and in the process of doing so they decided to take their frustration out by hooning up and doing quite a bit of damage.

Anyway, this afternoon after having a good look at the damage and speaking to a few of the neighbours, I decided to take action as the shire has no interest, despite it being a green shire and being in a green wedge area (those of us that live at the very end of the valley can't get anything done, whilst those that live closer to town get what they want) So I fired the bobcat up and snigged a 9mt log out of my pile and placed it at the end of the road between my place and the neighbours across the road to prevent vehicle access. And no, it won't restrict fire access etc, as the watercourse is at my end.

Being placed at the other end of the green wedge and in the exact position you're in (at the end of the green wedge), I have the same trouble with the buffoons at Nillumbik. A well placed spike between the tyre tracks about a foot or so long would place a nice hole in their sump. I've done it before and it's worked a treat (as evidenced by a trail of black gold down the road). In the end, about 10 of us in the street dug a nice ditch about 500mm wide and about 400mm deep.
