This is the 3rd ANZAC day I have spent away from Australia.

I feels strange not to be involved as my grandfather was an Anzac Cove veteran, Dad was in Tobruk - a Rat in the very best sense of the word - and later in New Guinea. Four of his brothers also served. A couple of older cousins were 50's Nashos and two cousins were in Vietnam.

As kids we were involved in ceromonies and later as Scouts we were even more involved. Of course as a teacher I had what I consider an even more important involvement. My memories and ties run deep.

LEST WE FORGET!!

Not as far away as Brasil, but in Darwin nonetheless. Here is a pic of the Dawn Service in Darwin for you...

Great photo, Greg

You can feel the atmosphere come out of the photo.
Pity it has been wet and miserable here in Melb and not likely to let up for the march.

Very much cold and miserable here in Melbourne. Went to the dawn service up the road then came home to a nice warm fire.

Time to come home artme?

Lest we forget.

Caught this in passing. As the new American Marine contingent formed up they took some photos. Note the centre of the group where the 2 CAV mascot 'Courage' appears over their heads. :D

Thanks for the photos Greg.:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

Just how I remember Dawn Services. Faint light, silence and, these days, so many young people.

Yes sjt, yes! In fact we are leaving here today - 25th April in Brasil.
