Hi everyone,

I'm planning a solid body guitar build and was wondering where I can purchase colour wood stains in Melbourne. I want a clear green stain that will be applied to the sanded guitar body (likely to be agathis or alder) which will then be clear finished with tru-oil.

Bunnings used to carry these (I think they were from Feast Watson) but do not any more.

Could I use a cour fast water-based ink from an art supply dealer, maybe?

Thanks for any help.

Yes as Big Shed said, The U-beaut dyes are great. But be warned they are very strong and you will have to do some tests by diluting the colours down to get the shade you are after.
This link is to the info sheet. It will pay you to have a good read of it to understand how it's used, but don't be daunted, it is a great product and really simple to use. http://www.ubeaut.com.au/pdf/No%209%20Water%20Dye.pdf
