I remember VW owners clubs having competitions on how quickly they could remove the engine from a Beetle.

This takes the cake, although I think they would hve their work cut out when it came to re-installing:D.

Talking of Volkswagens. BTW, our record was 11 mins to put a new motor in a rally car. Had no tinware around the back of it though.:D

Interesting. That's about $90 worth at your local auto mechanic, plus the fan belt.
My memory was that the fastest Beetle motor exchanges with tinware were around 17 to 20 mins. 11 mins naked (that's the motor, not the mechanics:rolleyes:) is exceptional going too:2tsup:.

My ex's father had a AC Cobra, it was registed in Vic so it could run stainless open side pipes in Qld. It was at my house and I washed the car then drove it about 1km around the corner to his house to drop it off.

The ex argued with me that I shouldn't put the cover over it because the pipe headers that goes through the body would be to hot for the cover. I said naaaaaa ...she would be right!

And proceeded to put my middle bird finger on the pipe....it stuck like glue and roasted the end of my finger.....I looked like friggin ET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :?:-:oo:

I will never touch another car when it is still hot! Fck! lol!

Oh dear! I've just drooled all over the keyboard. Was it a real one or a look-a-like?

PS. Sorry about your finger.
